With the help of new lightning report and builder tool, you can build reports/dashboard easily. We can add filters on data to get refined data as per our business need.
Example, you might want to create report to see all closed/won opportunities in current quarter
Access:-
Reports and Dashboards are stored in folder. Report folders determines who can access the report. We can give access to individual user, role, role and subordinate and public group on the folder.

satisfying some conditions.
Joined Report
We can build joined report in lightning easily. We can create Joined report to analyze data across multiple report types (like Opportunities with Products joined to Cases with Assets) or getting multiple, simultaneous views of an object (like Closed Won Opportunities alongside Closed Lost Opportunities).
