Salesforce Multi-Factor Authentication Overview

Multi-Factor authentication is used to provide extra  protection layer to your data against phishing attacks, credential stuffing and account take overs. MFA requires two or more authentication methods to verify an identity, from below three categories.

Something you know - your username, password or pin number.

Something you have- one time passcode generated from online app or hardware device.

Something you are- your fingerprints or face scanning technology.

Using combination of these security methods provides additional security to your account.
